Had my one month appointment with the dietian since i started byetta.
And my sugars are good according to her and i have Lost 17lbs. I am so
happy!

I started the 10 pen beginning of this week and it is doing a great job.

The dietian said keep up the good work and to make myself a jornual

I just started the 10 mcg a couple of days ago, too. Just now I slipped
into the clinic (I work downstairs) and weighed myself — 8 pounds in 4
weeks. I was expecting (and hoping for) a bit more, but heck, I’ll take it!
As with the 5 mcg, just an hour or so of mild queasiness after the first
two doses, since then no problem with side effects, although I think the pen
misfired last night since it apparently had no effect on my blood sugars (or
appetite, unfortunately). Today has been much better. Debbie

How are you doing with the 10 pen. I do well with it. I have troouble about
2;30-3:30 is when all i want to do is eat eat eat then i take the 10 at 5pm
and I am ok the rest of the night

    Hi Debbie

Watch your carbs. I know the dietian had me on a 1500 cal diet, 45 carbs at
each meal plus 10 at snacks. I cut that back some. I try not to eat bread
unless it is 7 grain or whole wheat.

    Yeah, I’ve got a bit of a carb dilemma — I’m a vegetarian, a vegan-at-home
actually (meaning I’ll sometimes eat cheese and egg products when I’m eating
away from home if I can’t avoid it), and it’s darned near impossible to keep
carbs lower and not eat animal products. If any other vegans have tips I’d
    appreciate it.

It’s been an interesting evening, I took the 10 mcg at about 7 PM, had
dinner at about 7:50 PM (a bean burrito and some salad veggies) and just a
bit ago at 8:30 my BG was 63. It was not high when I took the shot, only
    96. The drop seems pretty precipitous; I think it’s time to drop the
Amaryl. Otherwise, so far the side effects have been minimal, some vague
queasiness is really all I’ve had. I am having to really push hard on the
plunger on this pen, this morning I thought I had done it but when I took
the needle out of my skin it squirted the dose out. Weird. Since I was
sure I hadn’t gotten the dose I did it again and with much more pressure

    finally felt the click.

    Hi Debbie

I am a carb and sweets person my self. I really only eat meat at dinner
time. And that is usually chicken. Like i said i went to the dietian
    yesterday.
And i told her that between 2;30-3:30 when i am at work i start to crave
the bakery stuff. Then when i am off and home i dont. She told me it was a
mind thing and that i should think of all that stuff as poision.

We will see today since i have to work. We will see how it goes. I am
thinking about doing that also with the carbs thinking its poision and see how
    that
does too. Plus the only other thing that i cut down on was the diet soda
during the week its one can a day except for when i am home on weekends maybe 2
cans. I also drink alot of water and i also drink Crystal Light Ice tea.
