lizard’s like salad…
but what kind of dressing do they like? i normally do zesty italian and
though it did stay down last night, i had 1 cup of lettuce with 1 tbl of
dressing at noon and it was awful tasting!
i don’t have nausea or that full feeling…more like i’m suddenly anorexic!
that’s not healthy! i had to make the decision to eat breakfast at 9 even
though i was not hungry. i shot the byetta and ate 15 minutes later. just lc
toast, 1 egg, and 1 slice of american cheese grilled.
i figured i try to eat lunch today but yesterday didn’t at all.

Hi Jodi,
I think the lack of desire to eat is a natural side effect of the fact the
stomach is not emptying, even if all we are taking is water and medications.
There are days food just does not appeal. I don’t push it.
Often I have a cappucchino made with Atkins chocolate milk and that’s enough
protein to last me for several hours. Later in the morning I will fix a
low-carb smoothie using plain yogurt, sf drink mix (lemon/strawberry kiwi),
sometimes 1/2 c of lc icecream, a scoop of protein powder, and then 1/4 cup
frozen blueberries. That is never a problem for me and it can take me a long
time. I make enough for my DH at the same time and it covers him for hours as
it does me.
Some things just don’t taste right anymore. I used to revel in insanely hot
food, but I’m moved down to merely hot or moderately hot.
You may need to try out different kinds of foods to see what appeals to you now.
I can still eat the odd strawberry and I do okay with cheese. I do well with
chicken, fish, most seafood, and hamburger but have a hard time with steak. On
the other hand, if we pressure cook beef I can eat that because it is tenderized
by the pressure. I also do okay with soups, but have to be careful not to
underestimate the volume.
Fortunately, I like salad without dressing and just enjoy the cool, sweet taste
of the lettuces and other veggies. Have you tried salad without dressing? I
figure lizards must love nice fresh greens that have water content.
Cheers!

i have never tried salad dry. hubby eats it that way all the time. any
coffee i have has to be black though iced black is fine with me. not much on
milky things. last week, my grocer had these tiny turkey things on sale and
i bought a bunch of them. they are like chicken sized turkeys without the
wings and legs. i have one thawed and will bake it later. maybe i’ll boil up
an eighth of a head of cauliflower too. i eat that with just a bit of that
"can’t believe it’s not butter" spray. not hungry in the least but i have to
plan ahead.
i think i am loving this lizard thing
just need to figure out a pattern
so i can get the lantus to bring down my numbers. i can see where the spit
is doing it’s job with the pp numbers. and i know that as i lose weight,
things will get even better.

hubby yells at me cause i hate salt and he says we need it. i say we get
enough from processed foods. dr wonders why my bp is always so low
considering i am obese. could be that i don’t use table salt!
the lemon juice may be cool though. mr. bunny balls (pet rabbit) likes his
veggies plain too.

i don’t use much salt. just a shake or two. i don’t
add salt to hardly anything, and we don’t eat much
processed food. so i figure a bit on my salad won’t
hurt much

we have a triple lion head. he’s an albino with lavender eyes! hair like an
angora that’s about 6 inches long. have to clip his eye area and butt. a
real pain but he is so sweet.
he got the name "mr bunny balls" because when my daughter moved back home
and brought him here he was a mess! i took him to the groomer and had him
shaved (i keep him combed now) but daughter was shocked to find out that he
was a boy!
