supper and no lantus yet
bg was 198 at 5 pm so i took my 1000mg of glucophage and 5 of spit. that’s
it!
someone said that they only took their lantus at bedtime. i think my dr
started me on 8 pm but somehow i gradually moved it to 5 pm. with adding
spit and all, i will wait to see what my numbers are at bedtime and then
figure out what to shoot. byetta will be spent by then to so i can relook at
the lantus graph and play dr again. i hate when i do that!
at 5:15 i had a small salad with lettuce, alfalfa sprouts, 1 skinny slice
tomato, and 1 measured tbl of italian dressing. the cheeseburger idea
sounded good so i made a 1/4 ground round burger with 1 slice american
cheese. put it on 2 slices low carb wheat bread and a drop of mayo, mustard,
and ketchup. (daughter brought home whoppers which are one of my favs but i
left them alone). oh and a tsp of pepperonchini’s. water for my drink.
i’m trying to recall the action of glucophage. how long it lasts and how
long till it works. that will factor into how much lantus i take later.

the plasma halflife is 6.2 hours. the time of onset
when taken with food is delayed by 35min. food causes
a prolonged absorption rate but it doesnt say how long
it takes to start taking effect but steady plasma
concentrations are reached within 24-48hours
