new pen set-up
i did it 
and i wanted to ask if the amount of byetta that was supposed to
come out was just a tiny drop.
oh my bg this morning was only 158 after dropping lantus by 25% last night.
not too bad considering i had chips and dip and 4 baby bananas last night.
will probably take byetta at about 8:30 or 9 before i eat food. nothing but
black coffee till then.

i did the set-up (arrow, turn to 5, etc.) and had the instructions right in
front of me. i held the pen upright and pushed but didn’t notice a squirt.
maybe i wasn’t watching. i did see the tiny drop after though. i guess i’ll
just do the set-up again and watch closer.
i’ll take the byetta after i am sure it’s set-up correctly. i’m having 2
eggs, 3 brown and serve sausages, and 1 piece of low carb toast with butter.

You primed your pen, right? Did injections into the air until a bunch
of juice squirted out, right? Are you talking about the tiny drop on
the end of the needle after the injection?

I found I have to squirt INTO my hand or a tissue, of course being careful
of the needle! The drop that comes out is small IMHO. But I did have to do
it twice this last time

the second time i did it was fine. got a squirt out of it. my bg was 210
before i took it (morning rise i guess) and i ate after i took the
injection. so far no ill effects. i’m not hungry but also don’t have that
full feeling. no nausea either. a bit tired but that’s probably cause i need
to do some work in the garage. actually, i am yawning a lot so i may take a
nap. hubby got home right as i was injecting so i feel safe right now.

The instructions are to repeat the set-up procedure *until* you see a
stream of juice. It could take as many as 3 or 4 times (though more
typically 1 or 2, from my experience).

Jodi, I sometimes have to prime it more than once to get the big squirt
to come out. There’s usually an extra 3 injections in the pen over the
30 day supply, so keep priming. It’ll work.
