Fwd: [Diabetes_And_Byetta] Re: question blotch

I was wondering if anyone had gotten a rash around the area of
injection. I use the upper part of my arm and have noticed that the
area is blotchy and it has raised bumps. I alternate arms. It seems
to be more of a blotch on one arm and the other just raised bumps a
littler red. When I press on the blotch it is a little sore. Anyone
have any ideas? or Has anyone ever experienced this? I am taking the
10 pen.

I get bumps, red dots, and bruises all over my tummy. Don’t do it in the
arm. Is that hard to do? Since its the outside you’re supposed to do it
    in…

I don’t get a rash, but I do get muscle spasms from the shots.

It is not hard at all. You need to make sure you use the back part. I
put my arm on the table, bent at the elbow and hand down on the table.
This gives my arm a relaxed position and easy to locate the area I
want to inject. I feel it is easier to inject in the arm than the
stomach. The first time I let my husband inject it in my arm. I do
one arm and when he is home he does the other arm. I have not used
they byetta in my stomach area because I use to get bruises when I was
on lantus on my stomach. It use to upset me too much. I am thinking
though, to at least try my stomach, but for now I can ony do my arms.
It still has a burn with injection, but it is only my arm. I think of
it as an allergy shot. It is not painful for me at all. I believe
the ideal location is the stomach. I think the byetta works faster
when you inject in your stomach.

Also, I am thinking, after reading some posts late last night on the
rashes and bumps that it may be they are right about some of the byetta
spitting on the skin and causing an irritation. This morning I
injected and washed the area with water, in case any byetta spit up on
    my skin.
