HOODIA
HELLO please help me with this. Has anyone lost weight with this?
And i believe it was Marsha that said you take 1 time release a day and that
works fine. I checked the web site and they say 3 a day. Thats seemed like lot
to me , especially timed released.Any ideas on this?
Thanks so much!

Hi Sandra,
I have lost from 275 to 263 using hoodia. It is slow going, and right now I am
stalled. It does not increase metabolism, it impairs the desire to eat.
Bernstein said his patients generally take 1 1000 mg extended release pill a
day. That’s what I do. For me, it works. A friend of mine takes the under the
tongue sprays 3 times a day plus weight watchers and she indicates she is not as
hungry. Bernstein also is a weight loss doctor and that’s what he uses it for -
helping people lose weight.
Personally, I’d say that 3 times a day of a 1000 mg extended release is
overkill. But, I suppose if someone has extreme hunger that it might require
that. Dunno. I personally know of no one who takes that much, only up to what
I take.
Best of luck in finding out more about this - having tried it and benefited from
it I only know that I am not hungry all the time. Mind over matter? Placebo?
Really works? Don’t care as long as I have the result.
Cheers!

Is anyone still using this?
But i guess you don’t need it if you are using Byetta!
Thanks

Yes, off and on. I was using it all the time on the 5 mcg pen. Every now and
then the 10 mcg pen does not cover me. I still have hoodia and I always have a
tablet with me so that if I am inappropriately hungry I will take one.
If I am inappropriately hungry and nibble too much I can get food in and then
suffer for it later. Better to take a hoodia and some water and deal with it
that way - or use EFT - or both.
Cheers!

Tonight my husband made a low-carb SouthWestern style soup. We’re talking SOUP,
folks - broth, veggies, a little chees, some shredded chicken. I ate it at 4:30
pm - a bowl of it, which was probably 1 cup broth and 1 cup solids, including
the cheese. I feel as if I ate a camel - whole. It is 3.5 hours later. Oy
vey.
It seems very inconsistent when it does this. I had a large bowl of de-starched
hot and sour soup last week and had no problems at all. I suppose it could be
the chicken, but it has never done this before. The easiest meats for me to
digest since starting byetta are chicken and fish.
Oh well, I guess this will help me stay up late tonight and finish my memos for
Monday class. Can’t lay down and sleep feeling like this. I could be a teeter
totter with my tummy for the pivot.

Indeed, I have used hoodia, Susan. I used it exclusively from November through
March 22nd and after that with the 5 mcg dose of byetta. I still use it PRN.
I found that it took off slowly - a bit the first day or two, more over the
ensuing days and then I reached the point of having control over what I term
"inappropriate hunger" - when I should not have been hungry.
As with all things, it seems that YMMV regarding hunger. Dr. Bertstein says
that about 85% of people respond favorably within 6 weeks - most more quickly
than that.
I love my hoodia and I still find reason to use it from time to time. I have
"hungry days" when I seem to want to eat everything in sight and if I did I’d
get sick. So hoodia is a great thing for me to use.
Cheers!

i don’t know if this stuff is any good, or if it is a
normal price or clearnce, but i bought some "triple
action weight control" pills today at walmart for $1
for 30 pills. has hoodia, green tea extract and
magnolia extract. says it has 500 mg hoodia per 2
softgels.. for the price is worth a try i guess. we
will see how it does

Has anyone tried Hoodia? What experiences have you had? Is there a
particular brand that is better than another?
I bought a bottle of 90 Hoodia tablets on the Internet from Global
Nutritions for $36. It says to take 3 sustained release tablets a day, one in
the
morning, one in the early afternoon, and one in the evening. I have tried to
take the tablets for hunger suppression and I have had NO effect from them at
all. They might as well be $36 sugar pills! In my opinion, they are a waste
of money. Janet

Hi Annie,
Darned if I know about the hoodia with green tea and magnolia extract. A friend
of mine started on them yesterday in a bid to lose weight. I guess we will see.
Good luck to you, Annie, as I know that any little bit of help is welcome.
I’m thrilled that the plain hoodia works for me and I’m part of Bernstein’s 85%
success rate. I was concerened I might be part of the 15% no effect or limited
effect rate.
Also, Lanie on the list is a hypnotherapist - maybe she knows of sites for folk
in your area (or nationally) that could help in the hunger control area. Dunno.
Hey, Lanie, is there such thing as a central location for weight loss
hypnotherapy?
Good fortune to you in the weight control/hunger arena. I know it is darn
difficult to deal with.
Cheers!

Susie we have a sams club
what is the brand name I want to get some
thanks for the info
Just thought I’d chime in on the Hoodia issue. I love the stuff! I
read what Marsha had to say about it with great interest, because it
seemed like I always had what she terms ‘inappropriate hunger’. So when
I saw some at Sams Club, I decided to try it. It worked right away for
me. I take 2 capsules mid-morning and 2 more mid-afternoon. I looked
on the web for side effects and apparently there are none and there are
no effects of an overdose either. I am a very happy Hoodia user. I love
not being hungry all the time. Thanks, Marsha, for posting about it!
