<description>Thank you so much i copyed it all down and will try it
i am just miserble every day

Hi Patsy,

I'm on iron too, and have moderate constipation from it.

I use Dulcolax, a stool softener, at breakfast time and dinner time. I also
take 3 psyllium husk capsules with breakfast and dinner. The ones I take are
labeled &#34;Yerba Prima Psyllium Husks Caps&#34; and I've been able to get them at
health-food stores and some supermarkets. They have no sugar -- just fiber.
You can take more or fewer of these capsules. I found that three, twice a
day, worked best for me.

<description>I am a platelet donor, and while giving platelets doesn't steal any of
your iron, if you don't have a good iron content in your body, your
blood doesn't flow very quickly (this is why men give blood a lot
faster than women). Anyway, I tried iron and it made me quite
constipated as well. One of my sister platelet donors told me that she
eats a snack sized box of raisins every day and gets as much iron from
that as from a pill. I bought a box and not only is my iron up, no
constipating effect! This might be your answer too.

<description>John thank you for your answer
I wrote all of your tips down to try
thanks again

Patsy, Here is one approach which I have found useful. I purchase packets of
sugar free Metamucil and take up to three packets a day when I really want to
see action. I add a stool softener like Rite Aids Col-Rite or a similar type
with 1 or 2 capsules at bedtime. Then I take a packet of Metamucil daily for
regular control. It seems to work for me every time. It is easy on the system.
Of course this might not work for you and you may get many suggestions and have
a choice of approaches. I do think this is an important area of concern for
us, so I do not feel your question is inappropriate at all. Thanks for bringing
it up. John Dodson
