I have to take food within 10 minutes of Le Spit

I learned Friday night that I am still, at the beginning of my 4th
month on Le Spit, being forced to take food very very soon after the
shot.

My Dad is on Byetta, too and he is visiting this weekened. We went
to shoot up at the same time (his side effects are totally different
than mine, go figure!) and dinner wasn’t served for 40 minutes.

I ate but I was down for the count most of the evening with the
feeling that my food was pushing back up into my esophagus in
waves. I never did vomit, but I did sleep it off.

Almost missed Battlestar Galactica, darn it!! :)
I am a little annoyed at seeing my food arrive in restaurants then

getting up to go give myself my shot, only to return to cold food
25% of the time. Waiting for the kitchen to warm it up again is a
non-starter since my small children don’t have the patience to
extend supper that long. It ends up being trying on my wife.

Of course it’s a small annoyance compared to losing a foot in the
long term.

Now if I could just stop using the spit as an excuse to eat badly.
The last two nights I have been constipated (probably unrelated to
Le Spit, (I have a great new job starting tomorrow and change is
stressful for anyone, roight?) so I have been eating small meals and
no snacking after dinner and my fasting BG is right at 100. :)
I know what to work on. I have to just get on it.

Ivan, I inject just before I go into the restaurant if I’m sure I’ll be
eating within an hour. I also inject before I leave home if we’re going
out to eat and it’s close by.

    Amen to that Andrew!!!!!

I’ve taken insulin at the table. I don’t normally shoot thru clothing,
but if I’m eating out and have to inject, I do so in the thigh, through
my clothes. I haven’t had a problem with this.

Well… actually now that i think about it, it wouldn’t be hard to push
your shirt up a bit and shoot. I’d been doing it in the car, but with a
dress on it can be quite comical. my hubby says i’m flashing. haha

I do sometimes shoot it at the restaurant table. I did it tonight. In a
booth, facing away from people. But if it’s blatant, or in a small
    restaurant, I won’t.

I have never injected myself with anything before, and with my luck someone
would be there that faints at the sight of needles. :-)
I guess I’m private about it, in a sense that it’s nobodies business what
    medicine I take.

I was told by my doc to never shoot through clothes. Again, new and
    cautious.

Thanks for all of your thoughts.
