High morning BGs after low readings at bed time.

Wednesday, June 4th, 2003

Last night, I had a decent dinner of Tofu, green peas, and a whole
wheat tortilla. After about two hours of dinner I noticed that I was
feeling kind of low-sugar-like. So I measured and I was at 73. I was
about to go to bed and I figured I better not risk getting a low sugar
while I am asleep (I do get pre-meal sugars of 55-59 at dinner time
quite often with 10mg Byetta twice a day). So I had about six
tea-spoons of plain yoghurt before I went to bed. I felt safe that
way. In the morning, my sugar was 188! I was surprised because I
expected a lot lower reading since at bed-time it was 73 (before my
six tea-spoons of youghurt). Should I be surprised? Or is it not a big
deal for it to shoot up so high overnight?
I wonder what other people do when they feel they might be getting BG
lows just when they are about to go to bed?

Carbs and Byetta

Sunday, June 1st, 2003

There is a very intresting article on Eating MORE Carbs and diabetis.

I reminds me of the old Woody Alan move where he wakes up and
everything that as bad for you to eat is now good.

I was wondering how many carbs most people are using on while taking
Byetta?

A friendly appeal for on-topic discussion.

I would like to appeal to the membership to stick to the topics
of "Diabetes" and "Byetta", please.

The politics of personal responsibility do not relate to "Diabetes"
and "Byetta." A state’s decision to not cover Byetta under Medicaid
does. Both are political, one is relevant.

As stated on every email posted to this list, this is just one man’s
opinion.

Please, please do not clutter the list with "You go boychik!"
or "Shuddup you!" posts in response to this email. :) (more…)
