Pen ran out early.

I am almost certain that my pen ran out at 58 doses. I track my usage
very carefully, including all primes/tests. I have a new one sitting
at home for tomorrow but didn’t bring it to work. I could not get
another dose out of my pen.

I called Amylin/Lilly and they are sending me a voucher for a new pen
and asked me a lot of relevant questions.

Has this ever happened to anyone? It seems odd, but I never miss a
dose, I started with dinner on Jan 5. and I primed 3x. They admit
there is supposed to be extra drug in the pen for priming.

So (violins cue now) I am stuck eating like a birdy (little and often)
and checking my BG’s all of the time until dinnertime.

The doctor told me to never use the pen past 30 days. To always start a new pen
on the 31st day. He said there would be a small amount in the pen that you
would need to dispose of. Edwina

Funny thing is I just threw away a few doses in a pen that I used for 32
days. I am thinking that I didn’t inject all my doses and went back to my
log and there was no change in BG #s that was significant.

I use my pen until I can’t turn the knob any longer. I haven’t had any
problems doing this. I want to get as much out of the pen as possible.
LOL I usually have 3 doses left, so it’s not like I’m using it way, way
    past the suggested timeline.

That happend to me, and I know that I had missed at least two doses due to
holiday stuff. So at the very lease I should have had two additional doses
left. They could not explain what happened as they said that they put at least
2 extra doses in each pen. I call the company they asked the questions and sent
me a voucher for a new one. All I had to do was take it to my pharmacy and get
    it filled.
