does anyone have any sleeping problems that they can definably attribute
to the Byetta?

I don’t think my sleep pattern has changed much since the Byetta. I do get
sleepy occasionally after my first dose of the day. Sometimes I need a nap
before I go into work. At night I take Elavil, which is supposed to make you
sleepy, but I don’t feel like it does anymore. However, if I don’t take it, I
am wired awake until very late, like 2 or 3 am. I tried getting off of it, and
I was good for about 2-3 weeks until the neuropathy started coming back. My
first 2 nights back on the elavil, I could hardly keep my eyes open 2 hours
after taking it. Then, it went back to normal. I am having a sleepy moment
right now, as a matter of fact. When I finish folding this load of laundry, I
might snuggle in for a nap. LOL

My sleeping has actually improved since starting on Byetta. I used to
have terrible leg cramps almost every night before Byetta. Since day
one I have had almost no cramps. I also used to wake up several times
a night now I hardly ever wake up during the night. I actually sleep
all night. I to have always been a night person and still am.
I’ve been a sleep-apnea patient for ten years, but I do think that
Byetta has possible made it just a little worse. Otherwise, I have
little or no side effects, but little or no benefit as well. The stuff
doesn’t seem to do a lot for me.
funny you should say that. since i’ve been back on it, besides having
that really *bad* week where it hurt like hell once injected, i have
seen NO reduction in BGS. in fact they’ve not been below about 180
since. ANYTIME i take my sugars its usually over 200. no this is NOT
normal for me. it does not matter what i eat, if i eat, when i eat. it
stays about 239-259 lately. what is UP with this!
i AM curious though, the pharmacy did not have the pen refrigerated. how
long can it stay at room temp again?
Rebecca
Rebecca, Amylin has been telling people the pen can stay out of
refrigeration up to 144 hrs. If you’re wasn’t in the cooler when you
picked it up, you might have a bum pen.
a pen can stay out of the fridge for 6 days??????
ok i’m so lost. if that is true why do we all have such a struggle to
make sure it stays cold??
what is UP here.
Rebecca
I would not accept a pen that wasn’t refrigerated. You really don’t know
how long it was not refrigerated.

I had trouble sleeping before Byetta, but it got worse after. MD gave me a RX
for Lunesta and it has helped tremendously.

Oh now that Lunesta totally rocks…I have taken it before:)
If God brings me to it, he will bring me through it!

Yes, I used to be a night person and go to bed around 11-12 pm. Now, I
get sleepy around 9pm. I wake up at 4:30. Very annoying. LOL

I had more problems sleeping too.
It is a shame how disappointing byetta was for me when I consider how
many people it has been a miracle drug for.
I wonder why there seems to be about 10 to 20% of us for whom it does
nothing.

Helen,
It has worked for me, and other stuff has not. We just have to remember, every
one is different.
I am sorry it did not work for you!
