Pam, this is great news about the Thermabag! It’s so much easier than
the styrofoam box I used the other night, and much classier than the
thermos. LOL

Realitytvjunkie,
I am curious to know more about your Avent Bag and it’s use. Do you
have a moment to answer a few specific questions?
Do you need specific ice packs for the bag? If so how much do they
cost? I have plenty of "Ice Blue" bags at the house.
Do the ice packs fit into pockets inside the Thermal Bag or are they
loose? I have frozen a Byetta pen (in too cold of a refridgerator at
work) and that can get expensive!
Which leads me to this question: Do you wrap the Byetta pen in
anything? Or does it float around in the bag with the thermometer?
My current long term on-the-go solution, an insulated steel coffee
mug has only one inconvenience: It needs to be upright at all times,
and in the car that means in a cupholder. With your excellent
solution, I could lay the Thermal Bag anywhere in the car without
regard for "uprightness."
Thank you very much.
List has slowed quite a bit, hope it’s not broken!

Any ice pack will do. I saw a new foil ice pack that claimed it was tear
proof so I bought 2 of them at Rite-Aid for $1/each.

I sandwiched the pen between the two bags, no covering of the pen with
anything just the way I do it at home

so floating is hard.

Hi there. I’ve used the Avent Bag when I to Tampa’s Busch Gardens with
I bought my bag at Target.
it in October. I’ve used it several times since then. and I love it.
It’s lightweight, but big enough to hold two icepacks with the pen and a
refrigerator thermometer quite nicely. When I’m traveling, I have found
that if I use 2 quart size ziplock freezer bags with some ice cubes, I
can keep it cold all day long without worrying about how I’m going to
refreeze the bags. I just get fresh ice as needed, usually once or twice
a day. most of the time at a restaurant where we’re eating. If we are
not traveling, just going out to dinner around town, I use a frozen gel
pack. keeps it cold for several hours. This bag seems to have extra
insulation and padding, and I don’t worry about the pen breaking in it.
Even so, I wrap it in a little piece of bubble wrap, but then I’m
sometimes overly cautious..

department should I go to? Do they also sell the small ice packs in
that department in Target? If nIot, where?

For your information. So now we know.

I am interested in getting the Thermabag. When I went to the Target.com
website they DIDN’T have something called a Avent Thermabag but they did
have something called an Avent Thermal Tote. Could someone or more of you go
to the Target website and tell me if this is the same product you have been
talking about?
Also…where do you pick up a refrigerator thermometer?
Thanks!

Yep, that’s the bag…it comes in red, blue, grey, black and navy.
I got the Taylor digital refrigerator thermometer from target.com also.
just do a search for refrigerator thermometer, it the only one there..it has
big digital numbers, it cost 9.99.

I got a nice digital Thermometer at Target. It was in the Housewaes Department,
right next to the oven thermometers and meat thermometers. It was $10
