Hi,
I’m Linda, a t2 diabetic, diagnosed in 2003. I went straight on insulin due to
knowing some diabetics and learning that I could allow my beta cells to "rest"
if a cure ever
came along. After hearing of other peole’s successes with Byetta, I’m going to
ask my endo on Tuesday if I can take it. I take Novolog and no other diabetes
meds. My current dose of Lantus is 45units. Is it realistic to think I will be
able to get off of insulin after Byetta gets into my system? Do I need to ask
for metformin as well?
Is there anything I need to tell my endo to "make my case" for trying it? My
main goals are to leave the insulin and tolose weight.
